Manchester University partnership will bring long-term rewards

Manchester Futsal Club have this week announced a long-term partnership with one of UK’s largest and respected universities. The University of Manchester has approached Manchester Futsal Club for support in developing their futsal provision across the 30,000 student population. The nature of the partnership will see the clubs coaching staff and management support students within the 2009/10 BUCS Competition. Work has already begun on developing The University of Manchester Futsal Club at this week’s sport’s fairs where recruitment has exceeded all expectations. The registered players will now begin training in preparation for their first games in the increasingly competitive BUCS Futsal Championships.
Manchester Futsal Club General Manager praised the university’s vision in developing a futsal club that will provide talented players the opportunity to play elite level futsal in a university and club environment. “This is an exciting partnership for both parties in respects of developing a vibrant futsal culture throughout the large student population. We hope to establish a successful university side that can achieve BUCS points for the university but also act as a pathway into the club team. Positioning ourselves closer to the university is of course great for recruiting players but also for developing a fan base for the upcoming 2010 FA Futsal Conference season.“
As a frustrating 2009/10 season draws to a close it seems that Manchester Futsal Club are determined to be in the best possible shape for the challenges ahead but also want to ensure that the club has a long-term future within the city. “Everyone at the club and the students we have got on board already cannot wait to get started on this project because there are so many potential outcomes for everybody involved.”
The University of Manchester Futsal Club will begin their 2009/10 BUCS season in November with the regional competition. Progress could see them go all of the way to next season’s FA Futsal Cup where they will be hoping to emulate the recent successes of Loughborough, Team Bath and Worcester University
