Giles Collier has warned his team mates to not get complacent ahead of today’s FA Futsal Cup game against Sussex.
The Southern Division Two club were recently crowned champions of their division and Giles believes the best way to approach the game is to treat it like any other game.
Collier commented: “We’ve got to prepare for the game the same way as we do against a team in our league.
“We have to treat every opposition the same because you never know what they can do on the day.
“Our preparation hasn’t been different in training as we’ve prepared ourselves the same way we do every week and always motivate one another to the best of our ability.”
The 19-year old also told manchesterfutsal.com that he can’t wait for the game and states he is looking forward to the challenges that Sussex pose.
“I’m looking forward to the game and I’m excited to see how they play as they are a team.
“We have never faced Sussex and they will provide a good challenge.
“Most importantly, we are looking to come away with a win and progress to the next round.”
The young winger has recently returned from the Club’s youth tour to Murcia where Collier and fellow youngster Jordan Edge trained with El Pozo’s reserve side during the trip.
“The Murcia experience was a really good one and everyone involved in the tour really enjoyed it.
“All the kids had games every day, which was good as there was no times where they weren’t playing Futsal.
“Me and Edgy (Jordan Edge) also trained with El Pozo reserves and that was a fantastic experience for both of us.
“The intensity and tactical side of the game was something I’d never experienced before in Futsal.”
“I’d probably say it was the highlight of the trip!”
