This Sunday Manchester Futsal Development Team host York City Development at the National Cycling Centre.
This is the first official meeting between the two sides, so fans are getting ready for an exciting Division Two North fixture.
Development team assistant coach Steven Jackson says that the team are expecting a tough game as York have recently joined forces with another club.
“They have recently joined forces with Pumas Futsal club which is exciting for both of them. We are expecting a tough game as pre-season we played Pumas and they were impressive.”
“I’m sure their manager, Wayne McCann, will have them more than prepared.”
This is York Futsal Development’s first match in the league, however Manchester currently sit second top of the league table and are one of the form teams in the competition.
Jackson says that the entire squad is training hard week in week out, and morale is at a high.
“We are lucky to have a good squad to choose from and all our players know what they have to do both at training and games. Morale is really high at the moment and we have prepared well again this week.”
Despite the good run on form that Manchester are currently on, Jackson says he is happier with the squad’s development in key areas like attitude, teamwork, respect, and hard work.
“Obviously, we want to keep our good recent form going into this match but the key here is developing our players in readiness for the first team.”
