Manchester Futsal Ladies will make the short hop across town this afternoon for their Women’s North Futsal League fixture against Liverbird Futsal.
The Blues will go into the game with two wins from their first three games and scoring 24 goals in the process, they lie third in the table going into this afternoon’s game.
Their opponents Liverbird Futsal have played one more game than Manchester and have picked up the same amount of points in that time. They lie level on point with the Blues.
A win for either side today will see them momentarily go joint top of the table with Morecombe Futsal Ladies, all depending on how they get on in their fixture this afternoon against Liverpool Futsal Club Ladies afterwards.
Club Captain Leanne Skarratt looks with a positive view on today’s game and feels like her team can get the job done. She gave us an update on the team news and the general feeling in and around the squad.
“Having played Liverbirds just before Christmas, I think we’ll be fresh in their memory. We know we’ll have to be at our best again to get the result we want. It’s a strong league and it’s going to be tight at the top. After our defeat to Tranmere last week, we go into today knowing we need the three points.”
“We’ll be missing Ali Johnson and Zara Musker through injury. The rest of the squad is fit and ready.”
“I think the general feeling has been that we want to get back to winning ways. Our first defeat last week was tough given that we’d built up some momentum in the first two games. But it’s a good test of a team’s mental strength, and hopefully we’ll respond in the right way.”
The game kicks off at the Powerleague Trafford at 12:30. Get down and support the Blues.
