Manchester Futsal will make the long journey south tomorrow as they face Reading Escolla at the High Wycombe Leisure Centre in Buckinghamshire.
The Blues will be aiming to kick on from what was an excellent week for the futsal club, overcoming a resilient Oxford City Lions side in a 7-3 victory.
It will be one of Manchester’s trickiest away trips of the season as they take on a side who are currently top of the Super League table and currently have 10 players who have double figures in goals this season, so Escolla will no doubt provide plenty of attacking threats to the table.
After coming out of the blocks firing, Reading Escolla have hit a dip in form as they are without a win in their last 2 games and are still yet to win in February, and will be also be looking to bounce back against Manchester.
Manchester currently sit in 6th place and have put some distance between themselves and the teams around them in the league standings after what was a retched start to 2018 but are now unbeaten in their last three games after finding some form and picking up some important wins on the way against the likes of Loughborough and Oxford City Lions.
Escolla were showing all their title promise back in October when they visited Belle Vue – winning 4-2 with an excellent goal from Jared Rand during the game.
Speaking to Head Coach Sergi Saldana leading up to this weekend’s encounter, he understands that the game won’t be easy but feels if his team can do the right things then that can get them the three points.
“Sam [Richardson] is still not in good condition so he is unlikely to feature. Every game is a big game now for us. If we defend well and if we play with a lot of sense tomorrow, then I think it will be a great opportunity for us to get the three points.”

Players to Watch
Joaquin ‘Kimet’ Garcia – Manchester Futsal
The Spaniard has been in great form in the past four games for the Blues, getting a hat-trick against Loughborough and scoring two goals against Oxford City Lions last weekend. Arguably, he is the most in form player in a blue shirt at the moment. Garcia has excellent anticipation, can read the game very well and has good vision to pick out a pass in small spaces. He will be determined to keep up this excellent run of games he has been having and grab a hatful of goals at the High Wycombe Leisure Centre tomorrow.
Alejandro Sierra Garcia – Reading Escolla
With 16 goals in just 13 games this season for tomorrow’s hosts, there is no doubt that Garcia is one of the league’s hottest goal scorers. With great close control, can turn into space and a natural eye for goal, he will be one to keep an eye on for sure. He will be familiar to Manchester Futsal after scoring a brace in their 4-2 win over Manchester back in October. On his personal level and for Reading Escolla, it is something that they will want to repeat tomorrow.
The game will take place at the High Wycombe Leisure Centre (HP11 1TJ) with a 2pm kick off time. You can keep up with all of the action on Twitter @MFC_Futsal.
