by Nathan Linley

Manchester Futsal Club are delighted to announce that an exclusive two-year technical supplier deal with Umbro has been agreed that will come into play for the 2018/19 National Futsal Super League season.

The Blues, who previously wore Umbro team wear back in the 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons, will now parade the iconic double diamond logo once more.

The partnership will see Umbro supply the entire family of Manchester’s teams, from the first team and women’s team, right through to the youth programme and coaching staff.

The Manchester-based sports firm have been providing kits for over 150 professional teams across Europe, South American and Asia, including large footballing outfits in the UK such as Everton, West Ham United and AFC Bournemouth.

Chairman Simon Wright said, “This is a landmark partnership deal for the club and English futsal. We are delighted to announce that Manchester Futsal Club are now part of the growing Umbro family.”

“We have been working hard behind the scenes and it became clear that there are great synergies between both brands and respective futsal development strategies. The timing was right, I think Umbro were impressed with our passion for Futsal and overall vision for the club based on our history and experience in English Futsal.”

“The Umbro team and especially Paulo Araujo (Head of Sports Marketing) have been fantastic with us and we are looking forward to building our relationship together. They have some very exciting plans for Futsal, they believe in the sport and we are seeing already through their More Game campaign, and their excellent futsal products, that they want to support our sport at all levels.”

“Umbro is the original Manchester-based football brand that invented sportswear and sports tailoring so for Manchester Futsal Club to be wearing the iconic double-diamond brand is very special and symbolic. Our very first team kit was Umbro so it’s nice that for the 18/19 season we are back together, and we can achieve new goals.”

“We place a large emphasis on representing Manchester, the city, it's people, it’s sporting heritage and culture so Umbro really is the best possible fit - we want to help them and represent Umbro in the best possible way. I am sure there will be some great joint initiatives we will be working on - the discussions on this level have been very positive so watch this space.”

Umbro Managing Director Anthony Little made the following statement about the partnership;

“This year Umbro have underlined their commitment to futsal in a number of ways, and this partnership with a top team in our hometown is another example of this. MFC do great work bringing this sport to a wider audience here in the UK, and we hope that our deal with the club will help to take their passion even further.”

Together, Manchester Futsal Club will be ensuring every player associated with the club really benefits from excellent products that will not only be stylish but can also support their performance and make them proud to represent Manchester.
